My Terms
If you provide reference images of a character/person or if you provide a detailed description of a character or scene, I can draw whatever or whomever you like. Just keep in mind that everything I do will be drawn in my own style. I do not draw in the anime style.
If you are requesting a sexy picture, you MUST be at least 18 years of age. NO EXCEPTIONS.
I will NOT draw Furries, Shota (Chan), Loli or Scat.
How To Order
1. Email me at velvetarms[at]gmail.com
2. Subject header should be: “Commission – Your Name”<–insert your name here so I can tell who it is for.
3. Tell me what you want and how you would like to pay so I can give you my address/PayPal info.
4. I will send you a proposal sketch to see if it is what you would like. Once approved, you will send full payment to me via one of the following options.
5. PAYMENT will be through PayPal unless otherwise arranged.
All prices are in US Dollars. My work will commence when I have successfully received your payment.
*Please note that depending on the type of work you have commissioned from me, it may take a little more time to complete (i.e. traditional media). I will try my best to have it completed within a timely fashion.
6. Large, high quality digital image to be sent electronically, where applicable.
If you want the original work (8.5 x 11″), you will have to pay the shipping costs from Canada (prices listed below). Original will be carefully protected in a cardboard sleeve and sent in a reinforced envelope. Prints of the final image and printing costs are NOT included.
7. BEFORE I CAN START WORK, I NEED TO KNOW:
- What medium you would like the work to be done in.
- Black/White or Colour?
- How many figures?
- Portrait, 3/4 Length or Full-Length?
- Any specific poses or expressions. Personality of character(s).
- Background Y/N? Any details? Specific setting?
The more information you give me, the better. Also, that way I won’t pester you with questions resulting in a delay of work.

Drawing Commission Prices
~ Pencil drawing (b&w, minimal shading)
~ Pen and Ink (b&w, no shading)
One Character (3/4 length to full-figure) – $15
Portrait (head and shoulders) – $10
Additional characters – $5 each
Background – $5-$10 sliding scale, depending on complexity.

**I am assuming that if you choose this option or the next one, you would like the original sent to you. If this is the case, please see the note on shipping costs at the bottom of the page.

Depending upon size and complexity of requested work, price would be determined on a case-by-case basis.
My base rate for oil paintings is $1.40 per square inch.

*All COPIC marker drawings will be fully inked and coloured, as specified. I do not charge for flat background washes of digital colour, but I must charge if you want it done with traditional materials (either markers or watercolour). The purchaser will receive a large, high-resolution digital image (scan) of the drawing, emailed to them for free upon completion of the work. Shipping is extra (see above).
What I Require From You, the Purchaser:
- Reference pictures of character(s), if available, if I don’t already know them.
- A detailed description of characters appearance, if reference pictures are not available.
- A detailed description of what you want happening in the scene including:
*overall mood/tone
*expressions,
*interaction with other characters or environment (if applicable)
*exact positions (composition or arrangement of character(s))
*background (if applicable).
IMPORTANT: If I do not receive this information, you are giving me artistic license, which means I can do whatever I feel would be best suited with regard to the scene and characters.
By Commissioning Me, You Are Agreeing to My Terms:
1) ABSOLUTELY NO reproduction, or use of the artwork for personal profit (i.e. selling it as t-shirts, key chains, prints, or what have you). The artwork as priced here is intended for personal use only. The right to sell my artwork or to use it commercially must be PURCHASED from me. If you are interested in purchasing my services for the purpose of selling artwork produced by me, you must let me know before I start the work so that I can price it accordingly. These prices will be much higher than the ones quoted here.
1a) You can post the UNEDITED image online, on any free-access site as long as you credit me as the artist (if posting to a free art hosting site, you must comply with that site’s Terms of Service).
2) Original characters will still be under the copyright of the original creator/owner. This does not mean however that you own the copyright to the actual artwork in question, and you cannot claim to be the artist. Basically, you may own the character(s) and you may have paid me to draw the drawing, but the artwork remains my intellectual property unless you have purchased those rights from me (see #1).
2a) If you have commissioned fan art of an established character (or characters), I can make prints of that image for my own use and sell it for profit if I wish. In this case, you will receive a free print of the image.
3) My signature will be somewhere on the final product, though it will not affect or obscure the overall work. If I choose to display the image on any of my online galleries, the image will be visibly watermarked as a commission. In the event that the drawing is of your original character(s), you can request that I refrain from publicly displaying the image, and I will comply. This does not apply if the image is a fan art drawing.
Payment
- Payment is in U.S. American Dollars if paying with Pay Pal, OR in Canadian Dollars if paying with a Money Order. I CANNOT take Money Orders in US currency.

Cheque/Money Order = CANADIAN DOLLARS ONLY
- Payment is due in full upon approval of the initial sketch.
- Work on commissions will commence in the order that I receive payment.
- No refunds will be given once work on the final drawing has commenced unless I myself must cancel the order (in which case you will receive the FULL amount back).
- If I have not started work on your drawing and you absolutely MUST cancel your order, you will receive your money back, minus $2 for PayPal and $5 for a money order.
**If you would like to know my arts background, I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Hons) from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. My major in fourth year was painting. I have a private studio in Palgrave, Ontario where I work on my paintings, and I have exhibited and sold my work.
