It’s been a little over a week since the Anime North convention wrapped up, so I’ve had some time to think about how it went and how successful my little venture was. It was my first time selling in an Artist Alley, so it was very exciting and educational. I met some really great people and saw lots and lots of cosplay! There was a positive vibe in the air, and the con-goers seemed to be having a good time in general.
I didn’t sell as many prints as I was expecting to, but given the fact that my prints were of a much higher quality than most of the other participants in the Alley, they were also slightly more expensive. Still, for the quality that people were getting for their money, the prints were quite reasonably priced.
Anyway, I ended up putting them on sale at the end of the convention, and I’ve decided to keep the sale prices in effect on my website UNTIL JUNE 30. Shipping costs are also low right now, so if you’re interested, now’s the time to buy! Cheap cheap cheap! Shipping costs will probably go up as I get accustomed to Canada Post’s rates.
There is also a possibility that I’ll be selling prints at Fan Expo this August. This is still to be confirmed, but I’d like to go to the convention this year regardless of getting an Artist Alley table there.
Speaking of conventions, I’m heading out to New York City this weekend for a Comic/Cartoon Festival (MOCCA). I’ve never been to a North American comic convention, so it should be interesting!
Other than that, I’ve been hard at work on some commissions that I put on the back-burner during the lead-up to Anime North. I’ve also been putting together my comic, “Dirty Dogs” to print for Yaoi Con in September. Yes, I’m going to be at the Yaoi Con Fan Market this year, selling some of my more provocative work. Fun stuff!
